Hobart, Tasmania
In the following video, it’s March 17th. As the sun sets, Mo and I have fewer than 80 miles to Tasmania. It’s been a month since the knockdown that is requiring this stopover, and now we’re racing another large low-pressure system. I can see it coming. Will we beat it to South East Cape? …
(P.S. Go to the next day’s post, South East Cape, to see how the approach turned out.)
Thanks for the nice St. Patricks Day update! I too am looking forward to you being able to “get on with the voyage”. Be safe, Captain……
Beautiful photos….great video, really took me back to some of our more daunting passages, but nothing like what Randall is/was facing. My adrenaline perked up as I watched & listened to his words, seeing the lovely ocean waves & sunlight behind him. I can probably count on one hand the number of days we made 150 miles, maybe never…but we were in the milder South Pacific waters, still boisterous at times!
Fantastic update Randall !!!
Thank you !
Enjoying the flashbacks!
Randall, thanks for the great photos and videos! I imagine you’re very busy while in Tazmaina but would like to encourage you to take time and visit one or two of the National Parks in Tazmania. Freycinet and Cradle Mountain are outstanding examples of two of the most beautiful natural areas in the world. We’ll look forward to following your progress.
Great update!!
